According to expert estimates, the worldwide share of power generation on the basis of fossil energy sources will amount to 70 percent in the year 2030. Renewable energies would not be able to guarantee a constant supply in an economic manner.

For coal and gas to be able to fill this important role, it is necessary to upgrade the power station park and to develop new power station technologies.
