Innovative Technologies
Visions and know-how
The magic word to be able to cope with future challenges is innovation. In many areas of research and development, E.ON Kraftwerke takes the initiative so as to be able to provide answers to future questions.
Our development work is focussed on projects that help us to protect the climate, look after our resources and at the same time use energy in an economic manner.
We are reviewing new ideas for their feasibility, not only theoretically, but already in a very practical manner. This also includes that, once identified, we make technologies in respect of new power station constructions the standard in accordance with the convoy principle.
Significant key technologies for the future are held by the project “Kraftwerk 50plus“ as well as by gas fired power stations with an efficiency in excess of 60 percent. Apart from these highly efficient power stations, E.ON Kraftwerke is involved in research projects concerning the separation and storage of carbon dioxide (CO2) from flue gas.
By increasing the efficiency of coal fired power stations, we save on resources and reduce CO2 emissions
Already now, combined cycle power plants are reaching efficiencies in excess of 50 percent.
We are saving on time and money by standardising state-of-the art technology.
We are investing in the development of methods to reduce the CO2 discharge.
