E.ON Kraftwerke schafft neue Energie - heute und auch in Zukunft

E.ON Kraftwerke im Porträt

E.ON Kraftwerke GmbH with domicile in Hanover operates power plants at more than 30 sites around Germany with an output of around 15.000 megawatt feeding some 50 billion kilowatt hours per year into the public supply networks. This equals about 10 percent of the German power requirement. E.ON Kraftwerke is therefore among the largest power suppliers in Germany.

It is the company’s objective to produce electric power in a manner that is climate-friendly, safe and economic. As a large-scale and responsibly acting power supplier, E.ON Kraftwerke is therefore constantly working on the technological enhancement of the operated power plants and is also planning the construction of highly efficient coal and gas – fired power plants both at homeand in other European countries. The continuous reduction of emissions is one of the results of these efforts.  Currently, power plants with an output of roughly 8,000 megawatts are in the planning stage or are already under construction.

E.ON Kraftwerke and its subsidiaries are committed to work in energy-related fields: BauMineral, a company in Herten undertakes the marketing of the power plant by-products gypsum and flue ash. E.ON Anlagenservice in Gelsenkirchen is a maintenance and repair specialist for power plants, energy installations and industrial plants.  E.ON Fernwärme in Gelsenkirchen ranks among the large district heating suppliers in Germany. RuhrEnergie is responsible for trading and distribution in the Ruhr conurbation.

The E.ON group has 4,500 employees and achieves a turnover of close to 3 billion Euros.
